Sheraton and Westin Let Guests Browse Microsoft’s Bing Maps on touch-screen computers

The touch-screen hotel-lobby computers will be used by guests of Sheraton and Westin hotels to browse Microsoft’s Bing Maps or play games. Starwood Hotels Inc., which manages Sheraton and Westin also plans to start installing Windows 7 on its corporate PC-computers.

A touch-screen Microsoft Surface computer unit has been in the Boston Sheraton for about a half year and is constantly used by hotel guests for playing music, searching for restaurants, looking at Maps for directions, and playing games. Hotel guests also enjoy using fingers to pinch and expand a map using Microsoft Bing Maps on the HP TouchSmart machines.
