Geocaching is a high-tech outdoor activity treasure hunting game which is played throughout the world by adventure seeking participants equipped with GPS receivers and using different navigational techniques. The basic idea is to locate a hidden container, called “geocache” or just “cache”, anywhere in the world and then share the experience online.

Geocaching became popular among all age groups and is known by a strong sense of treasure-hunting community and support for the environment.

What is a geocache

A typical geocache is a small container, usually a waterproof tupperware container or ammo box, that contains a logbook. Larger containers may also contain some items for trading activities, such as toys or trinkets of little value.

Geocaches are currently placed in over 100 countries around the world and on all seven continents, including even Antarctica.
