A GPS/Sat Nav tracking system combines the installation of an electronic device in a vehicle, or fleet of vehicles (vehicle tracking), on a person (person tracking), on a animal (animal tracking) or on/in other asset with the purpose to enable the owner or a third party to track and/or record the position of the asset.

Using the Global Positioning System or any other satellite navigation system does allow not only to determine the location of an asset at regular intervals, but also to collect process data for further analyzing and evaluation. Tracking data can be viewed on electronic maps through the Internet web applications or with computer software.
